AfterRun privacy
AfterRun is a lightweight results tool for informal running events where timing is optional. It is designed around explicit runner consent and minimal event-result data.
What AfterRun Does
Timed runners opt in for a specific event, connect Strava if they want an optional result, record normally on their own watch or phone, and let the activity sync to Strava.
Untimed runners can join socially without connecting Strava and without appearing in results.
AfterRun checks later after the event deadline. It is not live timing, and public results do not exist in the current app.
Strava Access
AfterRun currently requests only the Strava OAuth scope activity:read.
Because of that scope, event activities must be visible to Followers or Everyone for automatic matching. Activities set to Only You or private are not automatically matched in the current private-pilot version.
AfterRun fetches sanitized Strava activity summaries server-side for matching. OAuth tokens are stored server-side only and are not shown in the UI.
Data Stored
AfterRun stores minimal event, participant, consent, Strava connection, and result data needed for the current private-pilot workflow.
Normal runner and organiser UI does not store or display GPS maps, GPS traces, streams, heart rate, cadence, power, calories, full Strava payloads, activity names, activity IDs, or upload IDs.
