For informal running events

AfterRun Race Timing

Simple private results without chips, barcodes, scanners, finish funnels, stopwatch timing, or live timing systems.

Timed runners opt in, connect Strava with consent, record normally, and let the activity sync to Strava. AfterRun checks later after the event deadline and helps prepare simple private results.

What AfterRun is

AfterRun helps informal and small-scale running events offer optional results without chip timing, barcode scanning, finish funnels, manual stopwatch timing, live timing systems, or lots of admin.

It is private-first, consent-based, and built around delayed results. Timed runners choose to take part in results for a specific event; untimed runners can still join socially without connecting Strava or appearing in results.

AfterRun is not live timing, formal race timing, a public Strava leaderboard scraper, or a public results platform by default.

How it works

  1. Opt in

Timed runners connect Strava with event consent.

  2. Run normally

They use their own watch or phone.

  3. Sync to Strava

Their activity syncs as normal to Strava.

  4. Results later

    AfterRun prepares simple private results.

Timed or untimed

Timing is optional. Runners can choose whether they want to be included in private results for an event.

Timed runner

Opts in to results, gives event-specific consent, connects Strava for the event, records normally using their own watch or phone, and lets the activity sync to Strava before AfterRun checks later.

Untimed runner

Joins socially, does not need to connect Strava, and does not appear in the results.

Private by design

Timed runners connect Strava only when they choose to be included in results for a specific event. AfterRun checks later for a matching activity and uses only the minimal information needed to prepare private results.

AfterRun does not show maps, GPS traces, heart rate, cadence, power, activity names, or full Strava activity data. Read the privacy notes.
